As a previous Career Adviser the one thing that I found frustrating was resumes. Resume writing is one of those love hate relationships. On the one hand, you want to write about your work experience and educational accomplishments but on the other hand how the heck do you present it in a manner that makes sense to someone who really doesn't want to really read thousands of resumes? A professional resume writing service such as cbResume can offer a lot of help in terms of making this task easier. The reason being is that cbResume writing service is knowledgeable of the current trends in terms of what employers are looking for. In addition, their writer may not know about your particular field of expertise, but does know how to research it, and create a coherent and well written resume on your behalf. This is usually one of the hardest tasks in terms of writing your own resume. Another annoying task with writing your resume is looking over the same information and because you are so familiar with what you wrote, you may over look grammatical errors or even simple spelling mistakes. A professional resume writing service such as cbResume can review your resume, point out the things that you may need to change. After so many re-writes you may not want to start over from scratch so having this other source do that for you is definitely a convenience. Although hiring a resume writing service can cost you money, having someone work with any professional level is a big help. The packages at cbResume are for all employment levels, and a you are able to work with a dedicated resume writer to get a resume tailored to your work experience. If you choose to write your resume, one of the best things you can do is walk away from your resume for a while to rest your mind and look it over again with some clarity. Doing a review of resume either on your own or with the help of a professional writing service such as cbResume is a necessity to ensure your best resume is sent out to prospective employers. You are finally a business owner. Is a résumé still necessary? The answer is yes. Creating and keeping a current résumé is important because you have a professional accomplishment document that you can share with other professionals and potential investors. A business owner's résumé can be used when creating a business and when looking for clients an is an especially good choice for those that are new to the business. The résumé will highlight your professional experience, and should show a correlation for your current business market. The résumé should reflect a point of view as someone who is applying for a position of business owner for whatever market you are getting into. When creating your business owner résumé you should create two versions one for investors and one for your clients. The version that you will use with your clients and vendors will highlight your knowledge, experience and abilities The focus for the résumé that will be used with investors will again describe your abilities, experience, but it will express your financial goals in terms of what you want for your business as well. The summary you choose to use should also include how you would provide your service. By preparing a résumé and making changes to it you can avoid not having one when it is requested of you. Being prepared will demonstrate your professionalism, and it will give you a starting point for marketing yourself along with your business. Getting a job in general is hard enough. The internet allows anyone in any place in the world to connect with others. Telecommuting started this ability to responsibly do your work from a remote location. The internet however radically changed our options Through the internet we can access mail, send invoices, collaborate on projects long distance just to name a few of the options. The internet has also invited one more thing: crime. Crime is something that we unfortunately accept as a by product for human nature and society. Off line crime seems to result in a faster response time than cybercrime. For the purpose of this article cybercrime is defined as any act of aggression to another person, and property. For instance, the expression injurious and libelous messages of another individual especially when you know in real life you would not be able to get away with. Stealing another's property be it intellectual or their sales. When encountering cybercrime it makes you wonder if the person who does these things online is in reality a predator in real life. It seems that people who carry out these types of crimes believe that they are free from being identified off line and therefore they have a free pass to rampage through the internet injuring people. The dangers that these crimes pose are monumental, it seems that all of the countries are attempting to do things about it. A lot more needs to be done. The internet is used for job hunting, sales and information. These same services are available offline, however everyone knows that the best responses are coming from the internet. What can be done to protect yourself from inviting cybercrime?

If you are a freelancer, than you have probably met your share of other businesses trying to hire you, but payment always seems so complicated and frustrating. The prevailing myth is that payment out of all of the areas associated with being a freelancer is the most difficult. Services is a field that many enjoy the benefits but few rarely say thank you. The best way to say thank you to someone for their services is to offer testimonies. Testimonies for the most part are usually said in a positive way, however once in a while someone decides to be rude about the truth. The negative information (in this case )however, would mean that the testimony is a proof that someone is being subjected to harassment, and stalking due to the ignorance of laws. A follow up for getting testimonies will be added in the near future. Case in point: a domain name that was highly search engine optimized in organic search to number one and has stayed there for three almost four years. You may be happy if that happened to you, right? So, I've decided to express my appreciation to myself. I am the former owner of the domain name malkamaxwell.com. The current owner, has absolutely no SEO work to do. The ground work for the site is solid for almost four years in a row for a group of long tail search terms. The current owner may not be happy knowing that I single handedly moved that site to its current position (considering there were some very nasty and targeted remarks toward my family). I on the other hand am thrilled! The negative posts that are on the home page are a great testimony to what my team and I can do. Not long ago, I had someone ask me if I can guarantee my work. With my former domain name malkamaxwell.com still ranking number one with absolutely no content and the utilization of my SEO (i wonder about that??) set in place three years ago.....what better guarantee than that? I on the other hand smile, every time that site out ranks my current site, because I know the fact that the old domain name that is holding someone else site only out ranks my current site (for now) is nothing but a GREAT testimony of my SEO abilities. Thank you current owner of my former domain name for helping promote my current website, malka-maxwell.com; but more than that for giving me such a wonderful testimonial. You should be so lucky one day to earn one too. Come visit us at: consultingsite.malka-maxwell.com if I did for that site, imagine what I can do for you? This was written by Malka Maxwell © 2010 How To Get Ahead With Resumes. Every once in a while I read about a job fair. Job fairs can be a good job hunt tool because you get in front of recruiters and get to present your resume, as well as ask questions about a prospective company. In the days of old, it was normal to walk into a place, and leave your resume and know that the candidate employer will call you back for an interview. Today, you tend to send your resume via email (pasted into the body of the email). So lets review how to pull off the big reveal 1.Print out a copy of your resume and references. There are two options to accomplish this. Option one costs money, but alleviates any fear associated with knowing if you have a professional looking resume. That option is to go to a printer and have the employees print out your resume. The other option cost is lower and that is doing it yourself. Either method you use make sure that your resume is printed on a heavier paper than the traditional printing paper. If you are purchasing paper it may be labeled as “resume paper” or “stationary paper.” 2.Make several copies. The old rule of thumb is to have at least four printed copies. If you are going to a job fair, I would suggest more than that especially if you plan to interview at a number of companies. 3.Paper type does matter. Really heavy paper makes the ink spread slightly, you want a crisp look. The paper you choose should be 24 pounds in weight. Use cream or white colored paper for a professional look 4.Its all in the layout. If you are unsure of your layout, do look for some help. There are several sites on line that can help you with the actual layout. They are: resumizer, nice resume, pongo resume and skillcraze. All it takes is a bit of planning and you will be able to make your big reveal as well. Malka Maxwell lives on the East Coast of the United States with her children. Having a disability is difficult enough, there are a lot of learning and studying involved to find the best possible way to make your or your child's life comfortable. Many parents of children who have disabilities tend to research a lot and connect to the proper agencies. What if you are an adult, or a person who has lived a life with no disability and face becoming disabled? Where can you go to learn more? The internet is a wonderful research tool for that type of information, however, you may learn about these two resources: I.D.E.A. And the A.D.A. I.D.E. A. is an acronym for Individuals With Disabilities Education Act. This particular Act is pertinent to those individuals who have disabilities between the ages of birth to 21 years of age. The particulars of the Act include the right (afforded by the US Constitution) meaning it is Federal Law, to ensure States provide education services (or Early Intervention) to people who have disabilities in 13 specific disability categories. The two main goals of the Act is to ensure that children who have disabilities are taught life skills thus ensuring their ability to work, further their education, and live an independent life. And two, to make sure that a free education is available and designed to meet the needs of students who have disabilities. This law is specifically for organizations that receive federal money to support their programs. The A.D.A. Is an acronym for the American Disabilities Act. This Act disallows employers to discriminate against an employee or even a potential employee due to disability. This Act is applicable to private sector, State and Municipal jobs. Other areas of interest included in this Act are communications, public transportation, and the United States Congress. In addition to the above mentioned laws there are laws that prohibit against housing discrimination, provide the right to vote, provide the right to all other human rights. Remember these are all applicable if you live independently or within a facility. Ignorance of laws is not an excuse, and by you searching out the proper places to get help you can provide yourself and others who may have a disability with the safety they require. Gaining the knowledge is only part of the equation, seeking out others who may be able to help you is the other part and lastly making the general public aware is the last part of this equation. The United States constitution was created to remind us of the rights we have been given by God, and created laws to make sure no one infringes upon those rights. As citizens of the United States you must be vigilant in seeking out the knowledge to protect your rights so that you may live a better life, but in addition to make sure all citizens continue to be protected regardless of age, race and religion thus creating a tolerant society for all. Let me explain. By now, you may be one of the millions of people who seems to be on the internet all day. You spend time on Facebook, Twitter, My Space, you name it. The social network sites are based upon a belief system of creating relationships. Now, if you have ever paid attention to anything anyone (including me) have been saying about job searches; using soft contact s to recruit you or get you referrals for jobs. So, you may say you don't have any contacts.....but wait..are you sure? What about your contact list on Linked In, Facebook, forums you haunt? Do any of those folks know you are even looking for a job? Once you start to look outside the proverbial box, and examine your relationships there is no limit to where you may reach. Embrace technology and use it to solve your job search. Instead of only looking at only job boards, looking in the phone book, or whatever you are doing make sure you put on your to do list "ask my social network friends" or "network" on that list. There are a few idea books floating around the internet regarding quick ways to make money. I must admit that these types of books intrigue me because it is imperative to have some type of income while you are looking for job, or if you need to make additional income. The “get paid” to fill in the blank field is vast, and although not new, you must do your due diligence in searching out the best gigs. Some of these money makers are tasks such as reading paid email, taking surveys. With due diligence you will find those legitimate gigs. With a positive outlook you will make some type of money, but fret not if it isn't instant. On a side note, I'd like to believe that many have made a decent living using these gigs . How do you set up your miscellaneous help wanted or get paid gig? Let me walk you through the steps: 1. Know that any income you make is just that income. You should keep track of the money. In my opinion, if there is a payout option to receive cash, try and use Pay Pal. Pay Pal has a recognized system for record keeping. 2. Set up a way to keep your personal information safe, you will be required to give your personal information 3. Register a new email account for this exclusive use. It has been said that you can get a lot of spam from these places but more than that I am sure the companies surveys and product test requests are the bulk of your email. 4. Register a voice mail company (free if possible) if you choose the option to allow these companies to call you. This way you can monitor the call traffic to your phone line. 5. Identify the type of miscellaneous job you would like to take on. The choices are: surveys, paid emails, and product testing. 6. Register at the various sites, start to let your points, or money collect. Aim for a cashout price. 7. Cashout or keep letting your money pile up. There you have it. The best places to start are those that others recommend. Make sure the rules are applicable to your country and try them out. If the site you register with works for you, keep using it! As you are conducting your job search do consider a telecommute position in your field. Depending on your needs telecommuting jobs can be full time, part time and seasonal Telecommuting first arose out of a need for business to cut down on costs, and allow their employees to continue working from a remote location most often their homes. The same basic professional prose was required , and employees often enjoy additional benefits. Telecommuting often may require you to go into a physical office for a few days, and then work from home the other days. In some cases you can telecommute full time, allowing to perform all of your duties from your home office and using technology that you may already have such as a compuer, high speed internet, landline, fax machine and printer. Telecommuting can be a good choice that may benefit your health. As a telecommuter you will have lower levels of stress related to commuting, office politic. From a financial point of view telecommuting can be beneficial as well. By working out of your home office, you will be able to receive some tax benefits, save money on the commute, lunch and possibly your wardrobe. If you are employed, can your current position be done remotely? Most employers fear remote or telecommuters because they feel they need d to see the employee physically working. What you may want to do is find resources that will allow yo u to carry out your duties from your home office, effectively. Then gather as much information you are able to find on other companies are handling this situation, and define what tasks you will complete from home. Then, present your information from a how this benefits you 9the company) stance and make your case. If you really want to work exclusively from a home office, and your current employer feels it is not possible. You may want to review your resume and look for positions that are available. Once you have landed such a position you may choose to leave your current employer or work in both places. A few pointers for working with telecommuting companies are not to wait for a n answer back after you have applied for a position. Keep applying at various places until you land a job. The reason for that is that there is usually a lot of people applying for the same positions and most of these companies need some time to weed through all of the applicants. When performing a search for telecommuting positions you may use these specific search terms to yield better results. Telecommuting is a type of job that for many years always seemed to call out the scammers. Telecommuter positions with mostly reputable companies are available for FREE. Just remember to use due diligence. The website I mentioned I have personally used, and these are my personal opinions..Rat Race Rebellion has one of the most comprehensive lists of places that offer scam free telecommute positions, resources and provides you with a direction of how to tailor your work experience due to the possibilities you may not have been aware of.
